Course Description
This course covers teaching mathematics in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS-M) is used as a basis to build a strong mathematics curriculum, emphasizing both process and content while focusing on student-centered instruction. Peer teaching is central to this course in order to gain experience designing and executing lessons that are grounded in problem-based learning and having students attain a conceptual understanding of mathematics.
