Artifact 2 – SPE 301

CCTS 2 states: The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that allow each learner to reach his or her full potential.


I believe this artifact aligns with this CCTS standard. The artifact is a case study based on a new student with problems regarding language, proximity and personal space, transitions, socializing, and acting out of the ordinary. The student in the case study is unlike the other students in his new class and will need to learn differently than his peers. My reasoning throughout the case study write up gives examples and solutions of what the teacher could do in order to have the best possible outcome for all of her students.

This artifact made me think about what I would do in this situation. I explain throughout the write up solutions that the teacher could do. After going over this so many times, I believe I would do these things in this situation. I know that I would need some sort of outside support in order to ensure the best possible learning outcomes for all of my students. I also believe that I would want all of my students to be a part of integrating a new student into our classroom, adversity or not.
